Safe Gatherings

Safe Gatherings is a comprehensive system that incorporates an online application, online abuse prevention training, several levels of background checks, and paperless reference checks for people who volunteer or are employed with churches that serve or work with children, youth, and vulnerable adults.

Per Conference policy, Safe Gatherings online training is the approved Great Plains method of training and certification, and it shall also be the training and certification process used by local churches.

It is required that every clergy person remain Safe Gatherings certified at all times. It is also required that every lay person who is in ministry with children, youth, and/or vulnerable adults remain Safe Gatherings certified.
